Match Report:Not only was the 1972 UEFA Cup Final the first ever UEFA Cup football tournament, it was the first (and to dat) only all English final.
Spurs won the tie 32 on aggregate. A 21 victory away from home in the first leg proved decisive for them, with Martin Chivers scoring a remarkable late winner, firing in an unstoppable shot from 25 yards. They then held Wolves to a 11 draw in the second leg to win the competition.
